Every 24 hours, 29,000 children die from preventable diseases such as malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea, and acute respiratory infections.
From 7pm on Friday, March 24th through 2pm on Saturday, March 25th the Mayfair Community Church will host Project 24/29—a Salvation Army initiative—that raises money to fight this tragedy.
Youth from the Mayfair, Norridge, and Oak Brook Terrace Corps’ will raise pledges and have people sponsor them as they participate in a 24 hour fast. They will also take part in small group bible studies, work on mission projects, play games, worship and pray together throughout the night.
All Metro Corps are welcome to participate in Project 24/29 though at least one leader must accompany each group. Contact Mary Kim at the Mayfair Community Church, Lisa Jordan at the Oakbrook Terrace Corps, or Roger Mantel at Norridge Citadel for more information.
