Revelation 21:10
10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.
Revelation 22:1-5
1Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
Those who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven are like a man who desperately tries to walk upstream. Though the current is constant and the waters will lap, rise and fall against him. Though he walks a riverbed that is marred with rocks, mud, sand and debris. Though others sail easily past him, mocking and singing. These violent waters will attempt to swallow him, but the man who walks against the current will not drown but be washed clean.
It is easy to let the incredible messages found in today’s scripture wash over us because of their awesomeness. A time will come when all the troubles of this world like war, pollution and disease will end. Personal problems like depression, sorrow, crying, death and pain will be removed forever (see 21:4). You and I, and all the generations before and after us, who have “called upon the name of the Lord and have been saved,” (see Acts 2:21) will live together in a holy city. There will no longer be divisions among Believers; distinctions based on age, gender, politics or denomination will not be recognized. We will be in perfect agreement in worshipping and serving the Lord and will even see the face of God (v.4)!
One of the reasons it is hard to grasp today’s passage is because we don’t have perspective. We only understand this world—this complicated, corrupt, fallen world. We are in the midst of chaos and struggle to understand God’s perfect and measured plan. That is why John was carried away in the Spirit to a mountain (see 21:10). He wasn’t carried away to the center of the holy city but to a place where he can see God’s big picture. And what a picture it was!
What perspective do you have? Do you allow the Word to give you God’s perspective? Take a moment to reread this passage again. Ask the Lord to show and reassure you of his perspective.

G21 Mobile
Wednesday, May 02, 2007

The Salvation Army in the Goldthorpe area of England has launched a new outreach that aims to make God accessible to people who would never dream of entering a church building. They aim to do this through G21mobile, a text messaging, email and web outreach.
Here is the concept: Lots of people want to pray but don't know how to start, others have big questions but don't know who to ask, many would like prayer but don't know who trust and many are interested in 'spirituality' but don’t know where to grow. The aim of G21mobile is to help provide unthreatening Christian counseling without judgment via cell phone.
G21mobile staff members text message prayers to people, positive thoughts for the day, help with moral dilemmas and also provide an outlet to discuss the big questions of life on their website and through email. There is no pressure on anyone, people can simply dip in, delve deeper or disconnect at any time. G21mobile will be a virtual church in itself or a “church without walls.”
They are specifically targeting unchurched 23-35 year-olds who distrust “church” and are suffering a quarter-life crisis. These are people who have worked and found some success but are now left asking the question “is this it?” To do this, G21mobile aims to advertise through radio, beer mats (or coasters) placed in pubs and clubs, possibly some billboards and computer advertising. They have already had an incredible response to this outreach and intend on doing more.
The next phase of their plan calls for creating a G21mobile café in a rented space in the center of the Goldthorpe area for six months. The café will offer specialized coffees and muffins and they will also be offering hand massages and a newspaper reading corner. The café will enable them to share the vision and idea with the community and get them using the text messaging and website services.
To learn more about G21mobile, check out their website.

Project AIM Prayer Request
Tuesday, May 01, 2007
On Saturday, April 28th, Kyle Madison—a Project AIM participant—came home after work to find a man running out of his apartment building. When he walked inside, he saw on the bottom floor of his building, two floors below his apartment, another man lying in a pool of blood in the hallway. After running upstairs to call the police, Kyle went back down to find that a man named Jake, who was delivering pizza, had been shot in the face. The police arrived and Kyle gave them information until they left at about 4:00am that morning. No one else was hurt and police think that they have since found the shooter. However, the man who was shot, who was someone that Kyle, Jon Taube and Jon Bukiewicz had had a relationship with, did not recover from the shooting and died on Sunday from his wounds.
Had Kyle arrived home a few minutes earlier, police say he might had been shot and had he arrived a few minutes later Jake would have had no chance of survival. Please pray for Jake’s friends and family as they grieve, for Kyle that the Lord would allow him to process this situation, for the Tanglewood community as they deal with this violent situation and for local police as they track down the killer.
If you would like to contact Kyle directly and assure him of your prayers, feel free to send him an email.
