THIS WEEKEND: Rising Force and Global Night Commute

Tonight, Friday April, 28th from 7pm – 1:30am the LaVillita Corps will be hosting Rising Force an all night concert and praise and worship event. Music styles will vary from Hard & Heavy Christian Rock to Hip Hop to Gospel and Latin Music. It will cost you $2 at the door. Check it out.

The Global Night Commute is a worldwide event organized by the Invisible Children organization. The Night Commute takes place tomorrow, Saturday April 29th, with people all around the world converging on urban event centers in solidarity with displaced Ugandan children attempting to avoid capture by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), as is prominently displayed in the film "Invisible Children".
The Global Night Commute will involve the trek of thousands of men, women and children from around the world into major cities where they will mimic the nightly commute of the Ugandan children by marching en masse from one point to another and sleeping at their final destination for the entire night.
In Chicago, so far, 1,377 people are committed to make a difference and will assemble in Grant Park for the night.

If you're looking for a group to walk with, there is a group made up of Salvation Army and Olivet Nazarene people meeting at 6:45 on the steps of the Art Institute. From there, they will walk to Grant Park where the GNC is being held.

Mayfair Prayer & Praise Night Photo Doc

On Friday night the Mayfair Community Church hosted the eighth and final Prayer & Praise Night of the 2005-2006 school year. We had over 160 people attend! We praised, we prayed, we sword drilled, we studied Judges 6. We even blew rams’ horns and shouted “For the Lord and for Gideon!” Praise God for the awesome things he can do through 300 “dog drinkers” and for being faithful to His remnant.
It has been an awesome journey and I personally want to thank everyone who has been a part of this new youth initiative.
We are having three Prayer & Praise Nights during the summer. The first one is on Friday, June 30th at the Waukegan Corps.
I will leave you with Catherine Booth’s prophecy of what this remnant will do:
"The decree has gone forth that the kingdoms of the world shall become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ and that He shall reign, whose right it is, from the River to the ends of the earth. We shall win. It is only a matter of time. I believe that this Movement shall inaugurate the great final conquest of our Lord Jesus Christ."
